My Pomatomus Hat turned out to be a really quick knit. This hat is based on Cookie A’s Pomatomus Socks, which I want to make at some point. At first I thought it was going to take me forever to knit up being sock yarn and a hat. But the knit took me only three days. I had to stay up late last night to finish them, but it was well worth it.
I used some gifted yarn from La Petite Tricoteuse. It’s Zen Yarn Garden Serenity Sock in Gold Dynasty. Here’s a poorly taken shot of the top of the hat. I need to train Ethan to take pictures so I can stop taking awful pics of myself.
And here’s the whole hat on my head using the “use a mirror to reflect the camera’s view finder so you can take a picture of yourself in a somewhat decent pose” method. I’m making a face because it’s still odd to take a picture of yourself in the mirror.
This project makes 34 FOs in 2009. In the past few weeks, I have really hammered out the projects and I’m now two weeks ahead of schedule and into September. If I keep this up, I’ll go into the fall with a good lead. Since I end up working a lot every fall, this is something I’d like to do so I don’t stress if I fall behind.
On the needles currently include a baby jumper and a pair of crop socks for a friend. Both of those projects should go quickly. Up next are a pair of jaywalkers for myself and another baby mobile. Those are also quickie projects.
