After watching the 2006 released The Notorious Bettie Page, I soon discovered that this picture diva had a lot more to her than thigh-highs and heels.
The film was an interesting adaptation of the sometimes turbulent life of America’s model favorite. Played by Gretchen Mol (see Bust magazine’s feature cover), the movie starts in Page’s childhood and depicts the events as it coincided along with government investigations into “naughty” pictures and movies. What’s cool is that parts of the movie flip-flip from black and white to color film, which may indicate what kind of photos were being taken at the time in Page’s life. All-in-all, it was a fun film, however, not necessarily completely accurate.
