Someone’s getting some socks! Here’s the first one. I’m using the Mr. Pitt’s Socks pattern, with some adjustments. D likes crop socks, so I just worked an inch of the 2×2 rib and then switched to 3×1 rib. I worked that for another inch and then started the heel flap. I noticed that the pattern says 1 1/2 for the heel flap but most patterns I’ve seen are longer than that. I worked it for 2 1/2 inches (using the Yarn Harlot’s advice to make a box). Gussets, foot and toe later, and voila! A sock for D!
However, I must have measured a little off because I think the sock should be a 1/4 inch less in length. It seemed loose on his foot. The OCD in me is going to rip out the toe and 1/4 inch and redo the end. It’s his first pair of handknit socks. They should be perfect. Speaking of which, I should get back to knitting the second sock. About to start the heel flap. I love crop socks!
