It’s that time of year, kids! Where we pick apples and visit the pumpkin patch and go hog wild! Or is it?
Our annual apple picking experience started out OK. I left on time, phew. Had time to grab Starbucks before my hour drive, and directions printed and in hand. All went well until I thought I’d passed the road I needed to get to Ziegler’s Orchard. I turned around on more than one occasion, called my mom for assistance and then my dad. It was not a good way to start the day.
However, things turned up from there. I got some golden delicious and a black bean salsa that’s homemade there. Plus my Grandma bought me apple bread that is very tasty. I’ve frozen half so it doesn’t go to waste.
Then off to Stade Dairy Farm to buy some sweet corn, a pumpkin and even more apples: Jonathon this time for apple sauce and apple pie. So excited!
For lunch, The Village Squire was really good. I had a chicken fajita salad with salsa as the dressing. Very yummy.
