Tonight’s viewing was the 1933 original classic King Kong. The black and white version was definitely interesting. I’ve never been too thrilled about the King Kong story line but it was interesting to watch this and the special effects, which were pretty amazing for the time. Not only was their kong, but a number of prehistoric animals: a t-rex, pterodactyl, loch ness monster type animal, oversized alligator and probably a few I missed.
Some parts were a bit cheesy, but I think that’s only because we can compare special effects that exist now to these older films. The acting as a bit stretched too I though, especially the lead female part who did nothing but scream in a very fake, false way. Ahh, we’ve come so far!
