I haven’t read a book so fast since the Harry Potter series. I read this book in seriously three days. I was certainly not expecting to enjoy Twilight nearly as much as I had. It’s a rare instance that I become so absorbed in a story. I of course loved the Little House, Anne of Green Gables and Emily of New Moon series as a kid. I’ve enjoyed books on and off since then but assigned reading in school distracted me from more pleasurable reading.
Now that I’m older and work as a wordsmith for a living, reading is even more difficult since I’m pretty much reading and writing every moment of my day. But this book was finally something that I became a part of. I can’t even tell you how excited I am. I tore through the book excitedly turning the page; staying up way too late trying to read to the end of the chapter. When I finished this early Sunday morning, I knew I would have to run out to get the sequel so I could keep the story going. I actually started New Moon when I got home too.
It’s a very addictive story about forbidden, enduring love that transcends time and place. I’ve also seen the movie which was pretty good. A lot of small changes were made to reveal some of Edward’s (the vampire) secrets but I like the movie a lot. It’s nice to see this type of story depicted on screen. I am counting down to the release of the sequel movie too which comes out Nov. 20, 2009. Yay!
