You may have noticed something has changed around here. Actually, a lot of things have changed.
First, I’ve changed the theme (again), abandoning the old look for a much simpler, cleaner design. Although I loved the eclectic charm of the other theme, I fought with its limitations, and it hadn’t been updated along with WordPress 3+. I also wanted to customize my site more, which I just couldn’t do in its current setup.

Also the blog name and URL have changed. Hello, “All About Kates.”
When I started blogging 10+ years ago, I didn’t have any topical direction (as I discussed a few weeks ago). I created a blog based off a poem I wrote back in high school because it sounded cool and over the years, this online journal has evolved into many different versions of itself. But it always had one central focus: my thoughts, my musings, my life. What better than to name the blog after myself. Simple.
You may wonder about the plurality of the name. Well, unfortunately allaboutkate.com is being squatted on. So that wasn’t going to work. Allaboutkates.com was the next-best thing. And it has some relevance in my life. Since I could remember, my mom has called me “Kates.” It’s one of her nicknames for me, which I’ve never quite understood, but she’s my mom so I’m rolling with it.
The content here won’t change. I’ll still be blogging about my running goals, knitting endeavors, cooking experiments and more. I’ve just repackaged everything so it makes a little more sense. Hopefully you enjoy the new look, and you’ll continue to travel this blogging path with me.
