Starting the year off right, I’ve already finished a book for 2009 in an effort to meet this year’s resolutions. Mind you, I’ve been reading throughout the past year, but the challenge is to finish books, not necessarily start and finish. So The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King is checked off the list. My journey with the halflings is complete.
I enjoyed reading the tales, even if it took forever to get through it and if I had to take a bunch of breaks in between. This is a big lift off of my shoulders since now I feel like I can pick up another book without the LOTR pressure. As ridiculous as that sounds.
I do have to get reading Emma, which is part of my Jane Austen challenge. My friend and I reading all of the Jane Austen books and started with Emma. Now we’ve decided to take breaks in between the books because the writing is a bit overwhelming. That’s OK, because I have a bunch of books on the bookshelf and I’m not buying anymore books until I read at least 12 of them. Here’s to more reading.
