Chocolate tasting stars smiled down
upon my crowned and jeweled head
as I gracefully glided, glorified in
my positions, across the smoothed out
sand paper that is my existence.
I tried to please—cheesy words pour
from your mouth wide open;
a venus fly trap; a black hole
while all and nothing is inhaled
and garbage, debris exhaled.
So high is the cookie jar, I can’t
reach. help please. your veins run
darkened, filled with the poison
of your own ideals and values,
and you bleed—tainting all.
Your breath stings; clings to the
windshield. Your sweat is an impossible
stain to wash. Dry, brittle, aged.
Grotesque features have formed
a web of shower scum and bacteria.
I walk away as fast as I can travel
with weighted food and heavy head.
My heart is light and airy even with
physical strain. I’ve overcome you
even though you tried to
chain me to the floor.
