Knit the Season, the last edition to the Friday Night Knitting Club series is probably my favorite of the series, although I enjoyed each book. The story interlaces friends, family, life and knitting into one overlapping string of plots. I love each and every character and love how Kate Jacobs weaves them together. I don’t want to say too much in case my knitterly friends are interested in reading the series. I give it a hearty thumbs up.
I’m also proud to have reached a total of 14 books this year, which is more than I had set out to do in 2009. That probably doesn’t seem like a lot; I know of friends who have read 52 books in a year—one each week. But for me who spends most of her day reading and editing, and reading emails, making time for reading for pleasure can be very difficult. I plan to set the same goal for 2010 and have a bunch of books lined up.
Books of 2009 total: 14
