I finished my Green L’illo Sweater today. I’ve already made this particular sweater pattern for my little cousin Cooper and liked it so much I wanted to make another one. I used the same yarn—NaturallyCaron.com Country in Loden Forest. I just love this color. I made the 24-month size but it definitely doesn’t look big enough for a two-year-old. I know that my tighter gauge probably shrunk it a bit, but it still looks too small.
I still have to add the buttons. The sweater currently is blocking right now. The collar is really neat, knit from each front side and connected in the back with kitchener stitch. I like how it makes a fairly smooth line and would hug the neck of the wearer.
Here’s a close up of the ribbed edging and woven front and side stitch. I’m going to use the same buttons as the other sweater, which look like wood pieces and are adorable. I hope that the buttonholes will widen with use; they’re a little small for the buttons.
This is a more accurate capture of the color of the yarn. I think the sleeve is so cute too.
