I finished the Queen of Cups socks just in time for this weekend’s Worldwide Knit In Public Day. I needed my #1s for the second Clessidra stocking, which I thought would be a great knit for the day. So here they all on my feets and everything. You really can’t see the pattern. I think the colorway is overpowering the stitch but I think they’re pretty up close, and really that’s all that matters. Also they’re quite warm so they’ll be stored away after blocking for a colder day.
I’ll also make a swatch with the leftover yarn from these socks. I used Socks That Rock and I have a feeling that I’ll be returning to this yarn again. I’ll want to file this away in my swatch journal to remind me of the yarn. I think I’ll have just enough.
Wednesday I finished sewing the fabric onto the baby afghan. Look how cute it looks! Those are little choo-choo trains! I’m so excited AND I’ve decided to make a second one for someone else (of which I won’t name because they may be reading this) and so I can rid myself of the three huge skeins of Pound of Love that I still have half of each.
I watched The Starter Wife on USA tonight. If you’re not watching this show, you should be. It’s awesome and I love that Debra Messing is back on TV. Oh, how I’ve missed you, Deb! It’s a great show about a wife having to start over when her marriage falls apart. This week was the third hour (as last week premiered with a two-hour double episode).
I’m also excited for this summer’s TV shows including The 4400 (premieres Sunday, June 17), The Dead Zone (premieres Sunday, June 17), Monk (premieres Friday, July 13), and The Closer (premiers Monday, June 18). Check out these great shows that will have new episodes all summer long.
It looks like I’m planning on a lot of TV watching doesn’t it? Don’t worry, I won’t abandon my AFI 100 efforts or any of my crafting. What will end up happening is a lot of taping of these shows and me forgetting to watch them or getting backed up. But when I can catch these shows, I do love them.
Speaking of the AFI 100 front, I added The Bridge On The River Kwai to the completed list (now 54 watched) on Wednesday night. I really enjoyed this movie even though it was a war movie. The characters in the movie really had some guts. I recommend it for a nice summer evening flick.
