If you haven’t checked out Golden Globe winner America Ferrera (from The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and Real Women Have Curves) in ABC’s “Ugly Betty” then you’re truly missing out. Every Thursday at 7, you can tune in to find out how Betty is making her way through the crazy fashion industry.
Although most of Betty’s co-workers are betting on her demise, some have identified her unique and compassionate characteristics and appreciate her for her genuine beauty. At the end of each episode, the message that it’s better to be “ugly” than popular and superficial is portrayed.
I like the show for its honest portrayal of a hardworking woman trying to prove herself without getting caught up in the politics and cattiness that often happens. Betty’s attractive and rich boss also is a redeeming character that sticks by Betty.
Now remember, Thursdays at 7 on ABC, check out “Ugly Betty” and revel in all the wonderful goodness that it is.
