I watched A Streetcar Named Desire last night (marking my 51st movie on the afi 100 list complete). I’ve got to say, I was disappointed. I, of course, have seen the scene where Marlon Brando screams, “Stellllllllllllllllllaaaa,” but after seeing it, I was disappointed at the lack of emotional climax at that point in the movie. So needless to say, glad that’s off the list!
Today I enjoyed a wonderful BBQ at la petite tricoteuse‘s casa with Mandy and Merry Gentleman. There was great food, good drink, awesome people and cool conversation. Everything needed for a wonderful Saturday afternoon. I got pretty tired though and had to leave the party early.
Not a lot of knitting occurred today but yesterday I did finish crocheting the baby blanket and put an edging on it. I haven’t made any progress on the Queen of Cups socks but I did get more yarn for Clessidra and order more yarn for the second Thirassia from Knitche. Let’s just say we have a lot of projects going on right now and I seriously just want to get something finished! Unfortunately with the Queen of Cups on my 1s, I can’t start the second Clessidra until they are done. Oh the torture!
I also went to the French Market in my town and found a pineapple coconut bar that was delish! Of course, my mom didn’t like it because of the coconut, but I thought it was a little slice of Maui heaven right here in the Midwest.
I went to bed pretty early too since I was so exhausted. Hopefully more crafty progress will occur tomorrow and maybe another AFI movie watched.
